Most people looking for a new air purifier to buy simply go to their favorite online store, read a bunch of specifications copied and pasted from the product manual from the product page, and click the “Add to cart” button if they like what they see. There’s a better way to pick a new air purifier, and that’s why I’m here.
My name is Vida, and as a stay-at-home mom and the voice behind this website, my goal is to help you choose the best air purifier for your specific needs (in this case, for pets). Larger websites similar to mine often have big offices and testing labs, but the equivalent of that in my case is my living room.
Yes, my living room is the lab where I do all of my testing and reviews. Over the years, I found air purifiers that could handle particulate matter from my two kids, me, my hubby, and my shedding cats and dogs. This is the kind of real-world stress test you need to put an air purifier through to know if it’s worth the money or not.
I started this website to show you which ones are worth the money and which ones aren’t.

The “Buy, Test, Publish” Promise
Rather than waiting for brands to send me free products, I buy the products I review myself, and this has the added advantage of keeping my reviews honest and unbiased. This is the three-step cycle I follow each time I want to review a new product:
- I Buy: Using my own money, I purchase the same air purifiers you see on online stores like Amazon or physical stores, which means the build quality and experience is exactly the same as the average consumer.
- I Test: While testing air purifiers. I run them through their paces in my actual home. I track how fast they clear smoke, how much noise they make during nap time, and how effective they are in getting rid of pet smell/odor in a real living space.
- I Publish: The last step is sharing the raw data, including the good, the bad, and the “don’t bother”. If a filter is overpriced or a fan is too loud to sleep through, I’ll be the first to talk about it.
My “Living Room Lab”
Clean air is a matter of concern to me. When I test an air purifier, here’s what I look at:
- Particle Removal: I use my Temtop air quality monitoring device to measure the amount of dust and dander the air purifier is removing from the air.
- The “Sleep Test”: If you have kids like me, you don’t want a noisy model. I test each model I review for noise level at every fan speed.
- Long-term usage costs: Electricity consumption and air filter replacement frequency are important considerations. You don’t want an air purifier that significantly increases your electricity bill or filter expense. I calculate the cost of these using real-world usage data.
Why Me Alone?
There are no boards of directors and advertising departments here. Rather, you’ll find me, my laptop, and my two kids who sometimes interrupt my work.
As a solo reviewer, there are no brands to answer to, so my focus is on you alone, my visitors. Thanks to having the requisite curiosity and free time on my hands, I am able to review consumer products for a living.
How This Site Stays Running
To keep a site like this running, I need a source of income, and that income comes from affiliate links. These links help me earn a small commission when you click on them and purchase one or some of the products I recommend.
I choose to not run ads as they can be annoying, and I don’t get paid to review products either. If I do accept any sponsored reviews in the future, they will be clearly marked as “sponsored”.
I pride myself on being honest, and if you find my work helpful, feel free to support it by using my links.
